西方,東方

現代的管理學,來自西方。很多很多要做的事情,很浪費資源,口語化的叫做“齋talk”。什麼職業生涯,關管理人什麼事(要爬上去的,自己會想辦法)。什麼推動,要動的人自然會動(別人真的不能推動別人的,或者可以做的只可製造利好的環境)。有些人做一世文員也可以的。什麼聯誼活動,有用嗎(免費吃喝,參與的人不麻煩的,去也無妨)?

做管理的,理上理下,什麼人也要理。哪有這麼多時間。民主,弄到自己累累的。

GM 快要破產有感。以上的跟破產這新聞沒有關係,只是聯繫到西方的管理。

讀到的管理理論,有用的就是能明白公司為何有這麼多不必要的東西存在(當刻對公司來說是有價值的)。不需要多費唇舌解釋給我知道,我能明白的。我會花時間解釋給入世未深的同事知道,可不會浪費時間去說服他們。運作就是這樣(又不是我決定的),不能接受的,請離開。

現在,每天都快樂。不需要管人只管小組(對事不對人),哪有不快樂的。

課堂體驗

今天的沒有flow,沒有sun salutation,靜靜的。不過卻動了全身。
side plank,穩穩定定的(兩手做到有點對衡)。老師說學員“硬頸”,震震震還要勉強。兩條腿不能同時伸直就一條腿的膝曲著在地上。
呼吸到肚呼吸到胸,呼出胸的空氣,呼出肚的空氣。不懂做。
child pose,膝合著,頭去找膝。還未能碰到。
坐著,一條腿直一條腿曲著往後。老師說可以的兩大腿拼在一起。做到,不過怪怪的,有點out of alignment。
躺著轉動腿,說要用骨頭,不用肌肉。
hero,做到(臀好好的坐在地上);不過腰好像不太直。沒有看鏡,不太肯定。老師說做不到的就坐在小腿上,不好勉強。
wided leg forward bend 俯身,真的沒有辦法。
squat prayer,做得有點勉強。
table top,單手單腳,伸出伸入,穩定到不得了。

看一看

老師說時好好笑(不是說他好好笑),邀請人去看他的表演,希望能多理解他平時說的是什麼。

劇場舞蹈,很多時候很難明白的啊!

總是覺得老師說的一點也不難明白,他說的都很“大路”的。

又一年

今天是遊行的日子,又一年了。二十年就這樣過去。還記得六月五日上班的日子,銀行擠提。不停把一疊一疊的銀紙遞出,不停地開本票。到了差不多關門的時候(其實也沒有準時五點關門,有人來就要做),一百塊的鈔票沒有了,十塊要不要,照送出去。

第二天,更忙。人們把錢存入,一張一張銀紙要逐一數過。

以上的,也算是歷史。

素烏冬

很好吃(餐牌上寫的是露荀鮮菇),感覺舒服(舒服的東西就是身體要的了)。要了咖啡,只喝了四分一,不是不好喝,涼了的有奶的東西會長菌,腸胃還弱的時候不好勉強。

偶然遇上,兩心知道就是對方。沒有聯絡。到了可以重遇的時候,男方的一通電話,演變成婚姻。

很美的故事,相信現實裡也能發生。

感情絕對可以隨時開始(曖曖昧昧的,最吸引),可負責的並不是人人做到。

被問

被三位同學問我為何上個星期不來上課(其實是四位,另一個在電郵裡已經問了)。

等一等

遇事不要急於下結論,即便有了答案也要等等,也許有更好的解決方式,站在不同的角度就有不同答案,要學會換位思維,特別是在遇到麻煩的時候,千萬要學會等一等、靠一靠,很多時候不但麻煩化解了,說不準好運也來了。

待人接物要擺正自己的位置,千萬別把自己當回事。

這說法很對。很多時候,把我想的推斷的說出來,要同事去求證(開個頭,讓同事好說話)。不在我負責的範圍,總不好幫人作主義;可又不能什麼也不理。

沒有買

林奕華的劇場又有票買了(很早的時候,某網友已經通知了我),可是看一看價錢,最便宜的要二百。不看了。

最近進劇場,少了一份投入。感覺是又是這些東西。

不買

不再買零食了,要吃的就吃生果。回家經過生果店,蘋果要三塊一個,這麼貴的。不太想吃富士蘋果,今晚到別處看看才買。

星期五

是這個月最後的一個工作天,是“埋尾”的日子。沒有上班,心裡並沒有牽掛。同事在下午四時打來了電話,我也沒有多說。

感覺有點奇怪,人在工作間好像不想下班似的(很多時候,多看一會又一個小時)。人不在,什麼也沒有想。

Refine

好想

好想喝咖啡啊!醫生話不可以喝。

退了燒,昨晚九時體溫還高的,到了淩晨兩點就好了。今早九點醒來,量一量,沒事了。原來我的體溫比標準低了一點點。

後記:睡到五點多,量一量體溫,高了一點點。感覺跟平時很一樣。網上查看,應該沒有問題。不過也吃了一顆退燒藥。

九點多,再量一量,多了零點二度(華氏)。沒有需要吃退燒藥了。

然而,就算是正常人,也不會一天之中體溫都維持一樣,在清晨時候會最低在傍晚的時候最高

這些時候病是最擾人的,最怕是在不知情的情況下把病傳了給別人。帶口罩令人不適,又熱又礙呼吸。

Fever

Stay at home.

細菌入腸(精神蠻不錯,只是上了一次廁所。有點懷疑,平時的日子都是有微微發燒的:或者說體溫偏高)。醫生說肚子不舒服很少會發燒的,可對上一次發燒也是跟腸胃有關。

他要我什麼也不好吃,只可吃自己煮的粥。可沒有工具啊!買了豬仔包(醫生叫我不要吃麵包)。

問醫生為何早上起來總是想嘔的(放假時候就沒有這個情況),他說是腸胃不好。其實都是要去看中醫的了。

原來昨晚肚子不是餓而是有病。

還未睡

上班一天,放假三天。嘻!

晚上沒有吃飯,只吃了一隻細小的粽。沒有吃太多的餸菜,有點餓。

又買

那個古古怪怪的,是爆穀。說是加了什麼的水。
鹽味米餅好吃。

雞絲伴麵

連續兩晚都吃這個,裡面有蔥,應該是生的可吃不到生的味道。可選擇辣與不辣,我要的是小辣。還有很多的雞絲在青瓜下。

近期愛上了青瓜。

伸展

簡單的把手垂直提高,就是好好的伸展了。手指往上拉,整個身側也活動到了。舒服到不得了。

Fear

短視啊!

Context

Knowing context allows us to adapt the form of yoga with intelligence and an understanding of what we are doing. We can employ intelligent and creative flexibility to modify the practice to meet the needs of the moment while also fulfilling the aim of yoga.

Context is very important. Without context we can never really master yoga or any other art or science. For example, artists learn all the classic principles of their form before learning to improvise and find true creativity. Without training in the classical skills of their art as well as understanding how their art has developed, there is no ground on which artists can base their creativity. Most of the great masters have developed their mastery in this way: by first learning the context.

Practicing technique with an understanding of context takes our yoga practice to higher level. One side effect of understanding context is that we develop a sense of being linked to a greater and deeper purpose. The highest aim in yoga is the awakening of consciousness, and ultimately it is this aim which contextualises all practice. Holistic health and profound inner happiness are side effects of practising yoga with this aim in mind.

Yoga is not an ultimate philosophy in itself, but part of a larger scheme of study and practice designed to take us further and further towards an experience of truth and an understanding of how life operates. Yoga is a process of refining our awareness by disconnecting from limited sensory perception and opening to the higher and more powerful awareness beyond the senses.

Zero

become zero. Stop everything. Want nothing. If you have a desire, desire to be desireless. We always have desires. Each thought leads to feelings and desires. So direct that desire to be desireless. Feel everything as a gift of the Infinite. Feel you lack nothing and that this moment is as it is, complete and present.

It is only when we spend some time wanting nothing, being nothing, that we can fully engage life, commit to our identities as teachers and humans, and let things come to us according to the identity we establish in our actions. It is this state that adds intuition to your perception, so you can see what is, and what the consequence is of each action.

直覺,越來越強。起初一些不高興的(能說出事情怎樣發生,有些時候並不是太好受的),不過再想想,事實就是事實,要接受。

減肥

四歲小朋友說要減肥,好好笑。

她媽媽說她說用水加鹽煮的雞翼好好味道,就這樣給她吃啊!

Team

Ten characteristics of well-functioning teams:

Purpose: Members proudly share a sense of why the team exists and are invested in accomplishing its mission and goals.
Priorities: Members know what needs to be done next, by whom, and by when to achieve team goals.
Roles: Members know their roles in getting tasks done and when to allow a more skillful member to do a certain task.
Decisions: Authority and decision-making lines are clearly understood.
Conflict: Conflict is dealt with openly and is considered important to decision-making and personal growth.
Personal traits: members feel their unique personalities are appreciated and well utilized.
Norms: Group norms for working together are set and seen as standards for every one in the groups.
Effectiveness: Members find team meetings efficient and productive and look forward to this time together.
Success: Members know clearly when the team has met with success and share in this equally and proudly.
Training: Opportunities for feedback and updating skills are provided and taken advantage of by team members.

Not bad, except the team meeting. Don't understand why we cannot join the meeting of the other teams in the department. I need to attend both.

很多工作,他們會自動自覺去做,不需要我出聲的。

不太明白

I do not think there are a lot of conflicts for me to handle. But, manager told me to look into it. One of the feedback from other colleagues says I need it. He has not shown me the feedback. He exact words where “I need you to look into conflict management. You tend to be a “Yes” man.”

朋友跟我說的,不太明白。yes yes yes,還有conflict 嗎?!或者,經理的意思是,要學懂講不。又或者是說,朋友只說不做。

Conflict is often needed. It:
1. Helps to raise and address problems.
2. Energizes work to be on the most appropriate issues.
3. Helps people "be real", for example, it motivates them to participate.
4. Helps people learn how to recognize and benefit from their differences.
Conflict is not the same as discomfort. The conflict isn't the problem - it is when conflict is poorly managed that is the problem.

溝通

朋友不斷地說要改善溝通,可他堅持不回答人家的問題。永遠的藉口是depressed。都要回答的啊!如果真的很困擾,何不看看醫生?!

其實參加一些課程,見見其他的人也有幫助的。說了幾年了。

活在封閉的世界,不depressed 才怪。

Manage

Yoga is as vast as creation, and its wealth continues to expand. As teachers, we must strive to expand what we know, not just in depth, but also in width. To be of most benefit to our students, we must master asana and gain a working knowledge of many related fields.

管理也是如此。什麼也不知道,怎管?!

同事被老闆說不是,說她很多事情還沒有明白過來。聽到這些,我這個旁人十分同意。被人批評很是應該。

做做做,問問自己為何要做啊!

推薦吃藥的yoga 導師

如果被我遇上,就是逃。導師要吃藥沒有問題,可能有職業病。可萬萬不能拿藥來銷售,說什麼能把肌肉鬆弛。

Mind

Children

From the point of view of yogic physiology, children below age eight do not need much formal meditation training. It is more important for these children that their parents learn yoga and meditation and carry yogic principles into their homes. Children absorb the energy of the environment. If their parents practice some form of self-development, their children will grow up in a healthier, more relaxed and aware environment.

小孩子站立的姿勢跟朋友是一樣的。
小孩子的情緒跟父母是一樣的,沒有管理。

Aparigraha

Jealousy means that we desire to be what someone else is, or to have what someone else has. Rather than finding who we are, we look at someone else and say, "I want to be that." Aparigraha, in its essence, helps us discover our own selves so that we no longer feel the need to covet what someone else has, or be what someone else is.

Asteya

We steal because we misperceive the universe as lacking abundance or we think that there is not enough for everyone and that we will not receive in proportion to our giving. Because of this, asteya does not only consist of "not stealing," but also of rooting out the subconscious beliefs of lack and scarcity that cause greed and hoarding in all their various manifestations.

夠了夠了,能說說也快樂。

Satya

When a student with stiff hips who can't do a backbend properly puffs out her chest to pretend to do a good one, this is a lie. This is being dishonest because a part of her body is actually not doing the pose at all. Teach your students to always assess themselves honestly, and to work at their own level, without need for apology. Encourage them to look at the whole of their pose, not just the flattering parts (nor just the unflattering parts). Teach them that a pose is too expensive if it is bought by selling ahimsa and satya.

老師時常要學員們把程度降低。能做的自己會做,不需要說的。不能做的以為自己會做,才要提點。

無聊

因為沒有時薪列明,說我們做的事情不對。問他們有沒有一張有時薪欄的表格,說要找找看。有沒有這般無聊呀?!

投訴我啦!是不會認同事情是錯的。補上資料不就可以把事情弄妥嗎?!

想問,時薪不是已經規定了的嗎?為何要寫?!

Yama

The name of the first limb of the eighfold path, "yama," originally meant "bridle" or "rein." Patanjali used it to describe a restraint that we willingly and joyfully place on ourselves to focus our efforts, the way a rein allows a rider to guide his horse in the direction he would like to go. In this sense, self-restraint can be a positive force in our lives, the necessary self-discipline that allows us to head toward the fulfillment of our dharma, or life purpose. The five yamas--kindness, truthfulness, abundance, continence, and self-reliance--are oriented toward our public behavior and allow us to coexist harmoniously with others.

“派糖”

無什感覺,因為不需要。總是覺得與其等別人做些什麼,倒不如自己安排。打從第一份工作開始,沒有等“出糧”。這樣的態度,伴我多年了。很自在的。

Elements

Some elements are enemies, in that each blocks the expression of the other. Fire and water, for example, will "destroy" each other if they get the chance. In order to co-exist fire and water need to be separated.. Too much fire in the body will create inflammation, while too much water can dampen fire and cause indigestion.

Some elements are said to "love" each other in that they are supportive and nurturing of each other. Earth and water love to "hug" each other, and air and fire increase each other.

Other elements are simply friendly and cooperative. For example, water and air can live together without problems, as in soda water; but when the chance occurs, they separate. The same occurs with fire and earth.

Earth forms solid structures, such as bones, flesh, skin, tissues, and hair. Water forms saliva, urine, semen, blood, and sweat. Fire forms hunger, thirst, and sleep. Air is responsible for all movement, including expansion, contraction, and suppression. Space forms physical attraction and repulsion, as well as fear.

因緣

當觀時節因緣;是該拼了命去付出、去做,還是該適時放下,當觀時節因緣。什麼時節、什麼因緣之中,自己該發心承擔?又是什麼時候,不該強出頭、不該執著堅持?一切都要保持清楚明白的心念,觀察人、事、時、地、物,來決定自己的作為。

若能善觀因緣,隨緣盡份,不再盲目地追逐事相上的完美,不再執著自己的想法,心安、身安才能法喜禪悅,繼續修行。一旦忘失了這個,所聽、所見、所想、所留下的,就是人我是非、善惡、名利、得失等染污之法。

Flexibility


生活也是如此。

這些這些並不是空談,每個星期老師對著我們說的要我們做的就是這些了。
Instead of fixing our minds on a single solution, the art is to develop flexibility of mind and accept that there may be as many ways of teaching a pose as there are students. Whenever we give an instruction, we must approach it from the perspective that our words are only appropriate for that particular person at that particular time, not that they are absolute rules unto themselves. Many ways of teaching a pose can be true or "right"—it all depends on the student we are teaching and the effect we desire. Flexibility of mind allows us to develop a repertoire of ways to teach a pose, making us able to respond to any student or situation.

同事跟同事說著不快的事情,我說不如買一些她喜歡吃的東西讓她開懷。不快樂唯有做些事情讓自己快樂。說著不快樂的事情怎也不能快樂起來。

一些看不過眼的事情我會說,當刻說過就是了。說過就想想方法,沒有就不要再想了。每天愉快地下班就是如此。

滑滑的,嘻嘻!皮膚啊!什麼也沒用。

老闆的不知道

老闆居然跟下屬說不知道他的情緒。如果是這樣的話 (如果不是老闆的沒有知覺),老闆的意義是很難跟這人相處,或者是這人周邊的人很難跟這人相處。危機啊!如果老闆是一個沒有知覺的人,跟著他更危險。

目的

有些人是不知道什麼是目的,他們想的總是一個結果。總是問,要這麼的結果為什麼呢?

Who We Are

Because of the stressful human and technological complexities of our age, we often assume that ours are the worst of times. But human beings have always suffered. "Living in the mortal body," the Buddha said, "is like living in a house on fire." In the yogic view, the source of our suffering is our ignorance—avidya. We have forgotten who we are. We create an identity out of what we do, who and what we love, how much money we make, and the things we surround ourselves with. From the classical yogic perspective, we are inviting disappointment, if not depression, into our lives because we have created an identity based on the five kleshas, or "afflictions"—ignorance, egoism, attachment, aversion, and the will to live—that keep us bound to gross apparent reality.

He helps a depressed person see that "I'm not sad, but sadness is present in my awareness."

"let the yoga come to you." He recommends taking one pose, or even half a pose, and doing it slowly and with great attention so that, for instance, your right arm "feels wonderfully delicious, and then perhaps you'll want your other arm to feel that way, and your leg and the other leg." At these times, it's especially beneficial "to empty out the feeling of needing to do it right, to let go of rigidity and to practice so you really enjoy doing it." When self-judgment comes up in yoga, simply observe it. Miller says it's part of the eliminative process and is to be expected as we become aware of our old ways of thinking.

Change

"Yoga primarily changes your consciousness, which includes your way of looking at things," says Cornelissen. "In the process, many aspects of your physical functioning also change, including your brain chemistry."

Whether we use yoga or some other self-affirming behavior, it's clear that even born-to-be-negative types can choose to cultivate happiness. Just as a bad mood can become a bad habit that perpetuates unhappiness, so can nurturing positive feelings lead to a more permanent positive state of mind.

Change may be seen as difficult but to change is not.

to remember that yoga is a way of living and not an isolated technique, say the experts. Go or Not Go

Due to the family, don't have a 2nd thought then saying not go. Can move the family there, not a big deal.

The point is, the person is too dependent on his parents.

I can bet, it is not a go or not go decision. Is have a job and doesn't have a job. Will know the answer soon.

一顆想要修行的心是因(種子),其他輔助護念行者的身教、言教、境教、制教,則是不可或缺的助緣。

又要講又要錯

只講不跟進,錯上加錯。

理解,是要重重複複在不同情況下驗證的。這是我的學習態度。

Bones

While alignment with gravity is crucial, your bones can't put themselves into line; they need the muscles to move them into position, hold them there, and reposition them as needed. This is where strength comes into the picture.

是的,骨頭起了變化。

The better you get at balances, the less muscular effort you need to maintain them. This is because you become more skilled at using your bone structure to support your weight, rather than wasting muscle energy to do so. You also waver less, so you need to make fewer and smaller muscular corrections. Such finesse often depends on practicing other poses to gain adequate flexibility, which allows you to place your center of gravity in the most favorable position. It is important not to try to muscle your way through balancing poses, replacing good alignment with brute force. If you find yourself clenching the floor with your toes, white-knuckled, there's a good chance you are using too much brawn and not enough brain.

做著tree pose 的時候,基本上都是輕鬆的。很多很多的工夫,都是躺著的時候訓練回來的。

保險試

如果要我進修,會考考保險試。

湯飯??!!

今天要了鰻魚飯,為何在飯裡給我這麼多汁(看不到一粒白飯)。不喜歡。都是吃鯖魚好(跟一碗白飯,汁另上)。

三天

辛苦了三天,辛苦自己了。

又“中”

只是聽了朋友說的少少部分,就說對了事態的發展。是我猜的嗎?當然不是。很多的“訊號”。

兩組合拼,經理說兩個主任也可以留下。信嗎?他跟甲說的跟乙說的是一樣的。信不信由你。

嘗試

工作是不會來遷就我們的,要勝任工作,首先要學會適應和改變。怎麼做呢?從主動地嘗試開始。

禪的體現是在現實,非只是“坐”而已,如果“坐禪”時能暫時忘卻煩惱,“下坐”又依然痛苦,那麼,還不如平常就訓練自己“放下”的功夫,養成放下的習慣,如此,禪就非只是“坐”,而是行、住、坐、臥都能用得上的東西了。

快九年了

九年,發生了什麼?好多好多。比以往的更多更多。開心嗎?當然。

工作方面,坐了一輪過山車。到過高點,到了站,自然離開。沒有太多的傷感。現況,低調的卻令人注意。自己,很是滿足就是了。別無他求。

感情事,來來去去。也沒有多大的傷感。或者是我令人受傷了。

No Control

When you're in your controller self—that is, when you're in denial about these simple facts of life—it's no wonder that you're often irritated, scared, or tense. Yes, it's important to have a measure of control over life, but the deeper truth is that much of the time control is simply impossible, so the only way to avoid suffering is to give up your need to control.

可以做的,就是不計較。別人看可是沒有所謂,不是這樣的。計較不計較,也可說上原因。

The relationship between control and letting go is beautifully taught in martial arts. Until the form is embedded in your muscles and neurons, you play by the rules. Only when you've achieved some degree of mastery can you let go. That's why the classic test of skill is built around the question: Are you skilled enough to let yourself be out of control?

連根基還沒有打好,就常說let go,只是天馬行空罷了。

Feet and Legs

When standing and walking, it is very important to place equal weight on both feet and to be aware of any imbalances. Strengthening the legs creates a solid foundation from which the spine can stretch and become freer, and it enables the legs, rather than the spine, to carry the weight of the body.

睡覺的時候,會把脊椎放下。感覺硬硬的時候,就是弄累了它(姿勢不正確所致)。

Optimism is a self-fulfilling prophesy. When you hold hope and optimism in your heart, you are more willing to do whatever it takes to turn your situation around for the better. This may either take the form of direct action or making an inner shift in attitude.

Pessimism is also self-fulfilling in that you believe that things won’t improve. Therefore, you won’t even try to do anything to make it better. Here’s the truth behind pessimism. A negative or hopeless attitude is a result of insufficient purposefulness. When your life is on track and you focus on your intention or goal, it’s much easier to be optimistic.

Confucius

Kunfu-tsu (Confucius) said, “The superior person under­stands what is right; the inferior person understands what will benefit him. The superior person loves his “soul”; the inferior person loves his possessions. The superior person always remembers the pain caused by his own mistakes; the inferior person always remembers the things he received. The superior person blames himself; the inferior person always blames others.”

Reason

it's not only what we think and feel that transforms our lives; thinking clearly and effectively is itself transformative. As the renowned sixth-century Buddhist philosopher Jnanagarbha went so far as to say, "Reason is ultimate." By this he meant that logic is essential in creating the highest yogic experience. Logic and intellectual cultivation are this important because we all can do it and we all must do it. We can't really function in the world without it.

Certainly yoga has always taught that there is more to us than logical truths. Yet the great yoga masters never suggest that transcending logical boundaries means forsaking logic itself. Thinking and expressing ourselves rationally isn't a liability that somehow prevents us from going more deeply into our emotions or ourselves. In fact, being able to give a logical, coherent account of one's deepest experience has always been considered a vital part of a yogi's development. We cannot hope to reach our full potential without developing effective practices based on sound thinking.

Inner Strength

The beauty of practicing yoga is that it builds inner strength—which you need to ride life's emotional currents with faith and equanimity—even as it tones your body.

By being true to yourself in your yoga practice, you enhance your ability to be true to yourself in other situations.

One Min.

Wow! Can do it one min (may be longer). I am talking about tip toe standing with arm raise over the head. Can feel the core is becoming stronger and stronger and it is the point to hold the pose, not toes. Also, can feel the whole body is taller and taller, upper arms are closer to the ears, toes are firmer grounding to the floor.

老師的班,這麼快又滿了。他說我們古古怪怪的,老跟著他。

上次的導師課,打了呵欠。導師在我旁邊,感受不到流動。在老師身上,看到動力的。導師也叫老師為老師的。

To Know

Yoga is in the waiting, not the doing. Truth is found in pouring 100 percent of one’s attention into whatever expression of yoga is practiced, not whether it is accomplished.

沒有人知道下一秒真的會發生什麼。yoga is life, life is yoga,所以練習是沒有期待,待在當刻就是了。

“Work with your rate of release instead of trying to accomplish a pose”; “Negotiate your edges and honor what you’ve negotiated”; “Deepen your breath and connection to your aliveness”; “Hone your attention to all parts of yourself.” And perhaps one of my favorite Ana quotes: “Forrest Yoga is not about one’s strength or flexibility. It is about asking, ‘Where are you now?’ then continuing your life’s journey based on the truths you discover.”

Mantras

Keep it simple. Less is more. Stay present. These are the mantras that go along with the practice of yoga.

How To

It’s helpful to remember that any silliness or disruptive behavior from children during these practices is often a way for them to express their discomfort with something unfamiliar. Recognizing and acknowledging the discomfort behind the behavior may be all that is needed to alleviate it. Also, leave time for the students to share their experiences and ask questions when they are learning these techniques. Whenever trying something new, it can be helpful to hear how others are experiencing it to help orient to our own experience.

As facilitators of these techniques, we must also address our own doubt or discomfort. If we truly believe the children will be interested in these techniques, it is much more likely they will be. A clear and strong intention for a positive practice will guide the entire classroom through the bumps and turns, stops and starts along the way.

Let the children know that this practice is for them. It is not something they need to produce for a grade or a score. It is something to help them develop their own mind, the most powerful tool they will ever access. With a focused mind, anything is possible. Engage children with the possibility of their own unlimited potential. Whether completing a homework assignment, taking a test, practicing a sport or socializing with friends, they will experience success, focus and calm with these time-tested techniques from the yoga tradition.

問我如何

老闆跟我談論把某政策緊縮處理(政策不變),問我有沒有問題。直接影響的不是我,當然沒有反對的原因(反對也沒有用,知道一定要這樣的。如是,少說幾句話)。心理因素,並不看得太緊(我又不是輔導員)。斤斤計較,不理的(不助長這不良風氣)。

你話我tough 仍是這樣,不想獨自過著tough 的時光。

不要跟我說

人們不告訴你重要的資訊,你便感到自己被排除在外。

有一天你會感到別人在秘密交談,你側面問起,別人都在含糊不談,好像這事與你無關。把心放寬些,也許不關你的事,知道了興許有負擔。即使有關自己,讓別人說去吧,我就是我,成為焦點不容易。

呵呵!最好不要跟我說。要知道的就一定知道。

發現

同老闆談話都可以做hamstring stretch,即是足往後上方伸展。跟同事談話的時候做lunge。

以上都是自然發生的。

有幾難

工作做事情,有何難?不明白為何要說上一年。多做幾次就能了。不明白嗎?只是懶,不看文件。知道來龍去脈,知道影響的是什麼,就是了。這些這些,沒得教,是有沒有能力去明白。

喉部有些不適,喝了洋甘菊茶,感覺舒服。

老闆說每次聽到的都不同,我每次都說一樣的。真的說的是一樣。是她多聽了,理解多了,而產生的不同。好肯定。

大大碗飯

前天吃了鯖魚加白飯(還有湯,前菜和咖啡),飯大大碗,全吃罷。好好吃呀!天天也可以。

改變

只要你對自己任何方面不滿意的話,都可以改變它,不過先得作出決定,這樣人生才能改變。

就是這麼簡單。一二三,同意,改。

不回頭

台灣作家劉墉在他的一篇作品中說:“我們可以轉身,但是不必回頭,即使有一天,發現自己錯了,也應該轉身,大步朝著對的方向去,而不是一直回頭怨自己錯了。人生路,不回頭。”

還記得這裡最早期的文章寫的話題就是不需要回頭。不走的就算有路也沒用。

令人討厭

所謂懂的人,最最令人討厭,怎也要說沒有做事情(不是說做不好)。人家已經每個月做,做了超過半年,還說沒有。沒有就沒有,我有做過的記錄就是了(給了你看也不看就說沒有)。

令人討厭的,要寫一寫心才平。

要順序,卻沒有記錄,怎做。不知道怎樣,開口問。嘻!還沒有給我答案呢!

一封信,建議左登記右登記。用條碼才能解決問題。傻的。用登記的時間,已經把事情弄好了。浪費人力。

要這麼這麼,又不許遺失(怕的話,不好要人寫這麼多),沒有可能。不相信不可以改(人為的問題罷了)。

Work on Where

Working an area that you might normally ignore creates a perfect opportunity to observe the body and mind in relationship to practice.

所以話呢,千萬不好自己來,特別是帶著固有的自己。看著老師如何調整自己,跟著就是賺了。

Observe how easy it is to just "swivel" your hips rather than actually twist your spine. Instead, continue to activate your right leg so that the right hip doesn't follow you as you twist to the left. When you create this resistance in the right leg, the action of the twist moves out of the pelvis and SI joint and into the middle and upper back, where you want it.

這點,還須努力。有點進步的了。

讓我想起

在網上找alignment(著實太愛這個字) 的資料,看到很多管理用的圖,想想今天的能做將來的工作(十一個月前是做著以前久遠的事情),想起上一份工作老闆的所謂評語,笑了出來。

能走,是我的福份。感恩。

Time Up, Game Over

呵呵!是我跟同事說的。用太多時間了(太多無謂的程序),我不說老闆也會說,倒不如早些讓她知道。

今天

放假,又過著“悠長假期”的日子(代表了吃早餐包午餐)。下個月,只有一星期能這樣。只一天,不被我拿假啊!不過沒有所謂,過了夏天(或者十月),再開始。

知道

跟同事說的猜想,又對了。今次是COO 的提問。沒有什麼的,只是知道明瞭自己的工作,要負責什麼而已。

大,小

小改變大改善,可昨天卻發生了大改變小改善。我只是要文件,就是這麼簡單。負責的人卻寫了很多的文字,回答總是一句半句,可她又繼續寫寫寫。我想的是,她為了不想影印而想出了很多無謂的事情。由她玩一陣子,過幾天我會糾正的。

Breath

the most important aspect of the practice—even more important than the asanas and the order in which you do them—is the breath. "If you don't focus on breathing regularly and deeply," Swenson says, "yoga is the same as gymnastics or any other workout. But when you focus on the breath, you can start to control the mind."

Teacher always reminds us to start the breathing then the action. It may not be easy but practise really helps.

Lunch

Went to another Japanese rest. today but it is bad. Soup is not hot (not finished), chicken is too try (HK$29 + 10%). Won't go again (can pay less with a better one). The best I like is the green tea (tea bag).

Want to try the 16 sushi lunch set (HK$250). But I need a good companion to go with.

1st Time

2 months passed, first time to issue a document :)

Replacement???!!!

now I have to start revisit the job description and write down all the qualities that my role needs. When it is time to look for a successor, I can based on the job description and qualities to hire the necessary person.

To me, it is a sign that manager wants to have a replacement (the worst is laid off).

Hope it is only my guess.

As a manager, what he needs is always in his mind. Never need to write down (if don't know, how to attend meeting, how to make instant decision). There are many changes in the company. A role can be changed so fast. Why need those paperwork. We write as administrative requirement.

Development

Friend likes to concern the self development of the team. However there is nothing he can do. If a person really likes to learn, he/she never wait for company to arrange. Those like to wait for someone to offer, save the time talking to them. Those like to complain, also save the time suggesting to them.

Hamstring

好好笑,昨晚弄了一陣子也拍不到稍稍看得到的hamstring,今晚做了一動作,就是了。

Impermanence

Without having an awareness of impermanence, we typically fall into one of two patterns: denial or depression. Although we cannot escape the impermanence of life and the fact that we are going to die, we desperately deny these truths; we cling to our youth or surround ourselves with material comforts. We color our hair, Botox our foreheads, and touch our toes. Or, if denial isn't a good fit with our personality, we may unconsciously turn away from the truth by feeling depressed or withdrawn from life.

Now is a word that is powerful and sufficient enough by itself to be used as a life study, a sort of mantra. The ability to respond to now, to live in now, to enjoy each precious moment without clinging to it or pushing it away is the essence of spiritual practice.

可以溝通但不

很不明白的,別人說情況,有人就不斷說別人的出發點是如何如何,說的全不對。很不明白的,可以溝通的卻不。

Cobra

When Cobra is done correctly, your legs provide the power and support for your spine to gracefully extend, and your pelvis and belly act together to decompress and support your lower back, which has a tendency to overarch.

朋友時常跟我說腳趾,不理core 卻理會在現時來說並不重要的事情。

Once you decide that size doesn't matter in your backbends, you'll have the patience to learn the proper foundations of the pose, such as how to work the legs, pelvis, belly, arms, and chest. And, just as a concert musician practices scales to prepare for a stellar performance, you'll feel how the foundations of Cobra Pose pave the way for all of your backbends to be more harmonious.

Constructive Rest Position

Rather than trying to instantly correct all the imbalances and habitual compensations you've developed throughout your life, we'll begin by simply releasing the psoas in a posture called constructive rest position. In this pose, you don't need to perform any muscular action to release the psoas. Gravity will do the work.

To take constructive rest position, lie on your back, bend your knees to about 90 degrees, and place your feet on the floor in line with your hip sockets, 12 to 16 inches from your buttocks. Be careful not to flatten or exaggerate the curves in either your lumbar (lower back) or cervical (neck) spine. Rest your hands and forearms on your rib cage, on your pelvis, or by bringing them to the floor as in Savasana.

Now that you're in position, shift your awareness to the support of your bones. Begin by sensing the weight of your bones sinking down toward the floor. Take note of any part of your skeleton that feels as though it is suspended, any place where the muscular contraction prevents the bones from surrendering to the pull of gravity. As your psoas continues to release, the distribution of weight will start to feel increasingly even throughout your body.

這個,需要的是時間。

課堂體驗

老師只逗留了五至十分鐘,跟著是代課導師。
好累,做到差不多想停止(做了很多standing pose),流了汗。
cobra,導師要我們不好arch the back too much,要用腹的力,做到少少。感覺很不同,上下對衡,壓力就沒了。
standing side bend,被導師推一推身軀(向前擺正),感覺完全不同。頭可以放到上臂上。
沒了老師的ground work,整個人都好硬。一開始伸展腳趾就扯著扯著了。

午餐

到了慣常去的茶餐廳式餐廳,沒有空位(有個外國人坐了我慣常坐的位)!!!於是去了這裡(本來想去懷舊老店吃麵,不過太熱啦),不需要加一(午餐所有選擇都是HK$56)。不吃生生菜的我(煮過的也不是太喜歡),吃著田園沙拉,還可以(菜很脆)。不太好罐頭吞拿魚的我,想吃意粉,也照吃(菠菜意粉吃完剩下了吞拿魚)。咖啡還可以,夠熱。那裡的水很好喝。

這裡,要多給十多塊。

估不到

亞洲第一個國家有本土H1N1,估不到是日本。他們不是很注重衛生的嗎?

話說回來,日本的東弟弟買回來的白之戀人,味道不同了。其他的食物,素質也很一般。

很多日本食店都減價,是大大的減幅(有些價錢便宜過茶餐廳)。真的不知道他們如何維持。

終於等到了(三分二價錢)。已經吃完,短期內也不會再買(好味精)。

答案:菠蘿。

能量湯

橙色的羅宋湯是也。今天吃的是用茄膏做的,夠熱且湯很多,大口大口地吃。要了一杯少奶的咖啡,奶真的很少(像朱古力)。喝後,很滿足(只是傳統茶餐廳的咖啡杯份量)。

沒吃之前(很難得今天能吃早餐),想到要吃下午茶的(因為打定輸數湯不好咖啡不好),不需要了。

本來打算吃米線的,人很多。不好以為我只吃了這些,還有的。嘻!

菜是蕃薯苗(看上去油,不是的。只是表面而已),有點硬。麻醬伴麵,吃完醬還有。

Self-esteem

We need to think about self-esteem from a different perspective. We suffer from low self-esteem not because we do not have it, but because our perception of real self is clouded under materialistic delusions. Years of comparative thinking and conditioning has obscured our authentic inner self.

In order to have healthy self-esteem, we do not need to gain it from somewhere else. All we need to do is peel off the layers of conditioning and false identifications we have accumulated through life experiences. Once you do that, you will find that you always had it. It was just lying buried under your false perceptions and wrong-headed identifications.

Feeling

Manipulative feelings are generated by thoughts such as, "I want attention," "I want new clothes," or "I have a right to have whatever I want." The expression of these feelings need to be ignored, or the child needs to be told that we don't like the complaining, so that we are not indulging our children in using their feelings to manipulate.

Fate

"You assume things are going to go well and when they do not, you call that bad luck. You assume things are going to go badly and when they do not, you call that good luck. You assume certain things are going to happen or not happen a certain way, but you do not know what is going to actually happen. You assume the future is unknown. When you are caught out (things do not work out for you), you call that Fate."

朋友時常說lucky,沒有意義的。

Focus

He lived in the material world, shouldered his worldly responsibilities but never let the world live in him. He realized that money, knowledge, poverty and prestige all existed outside us. It is the attachment to these that tether us down. They are neither a bondage nor freedom, but just means of living. This is how we should live— without trying to run away from anything but remaining focused on our ultimate goal—self-actualization. Once we are focused on the transcendent goals, all the other distractions take a back seat.

朋友說DIY,可沒有學過怎DIY。特別是線路事宜,不可亂來。

想想,朋友的人生,可沒有嘗過“學習”。他不知道如何學如何習。

Veil

Buddhist philosophy explains this paradox. It says that we suffer from three things: Suffering of suffering, Suffering of change and All-pervasive suffering. Going a little deeper into these concepts reveal what hampers us from getting rid of suffering. For one, it is our fundamental misunderstanding of the basic laws of life which perpetuates the cycle of suffering and pain.

Getting rid of mental afflictions such as depression, anger, fear, hopelessness and social problems is a possible task as long as we are willing to look for their real causes without resorting to cosmetic solutions.

六年前的裝修,六年來沒有事情發生。可半年前更換了的壞了,卻說是六年前裝修所累的(說什麼沒有等水分蒸發)。真的嗎?如果事情真的是這樣,為何六年裡沒有事情發生呢?

Simplicity

跟同事說,如果有日我去了印度(當然不是指旅行),代表不回來了。

歸零

在我們的人生曆程中,不難看到類似的情形,自視過高,不聽意見,這是一般人常犯的錯誤。尤其在學習成長的路上,歸零的心態是我們必須首先擁有的。只有將自己心中那杯已長滿青苔的死水倒掉,方能承接學習過程中新注入的清甘泉。

飯伴

同事以為我跟飯伴好好朋友,可不(她的負能量很高)。跟她,有時侯一餐飯也說不上五句話。她的話題盡是老闆老闆。

對她的話,可沒有大反應(回應有的),很多時候會說一些她不想聽的話(跟她說小改變大改善)。慢慢,她的話也少了。

如果我們能明白老闆要面對的人跟我們面對的人,就知道很多事情不是我們想怎樣就怎樣。世界,沒有黑白分明的。處在灰色地帶,做得舒服就是了。

直覺

事情發生了,跟同事說我的猜想。事情就是這樣子發生啊!不是一次,而是很多次。

又說,思想快過老闆就是了,可不是要表現什麼,只是不想被人煩著。程序一二三調一調,效果不一樣。

同一部門不同小組,為何不給老闆一個製成品。

九時十五分,人很精神。昨晚超過淩晨一點才睡。

Intention

"yoga is about intention, attention and breath."

In yoga, your movement toward, say, touching your toes is what matters, not whether you are able to wrench your body into that position. "If you keep the breath steady, then you can begin to steady the mind,"

"That's the essence of the practice. It's not about a perfect-looking posture."

to listen to your body. If you find yourself holding your breath in a pose, that's a simple sign you should ease up.

Friend told me his instructor asked him to hold a pose for 1 min. As long as he is not doing the pose properly (without proper alignment), holding it for what's the reason.

As I am in a multi-level class, teacher always remind us to sit down or take a rest if tired. Tiring is a sign cannot go on and pretend to be ok.

If we cannot be flank to oursevles in the class, it is no way in our daily life.

Do

DO take time afterwards to think about what you did in class, so you can retain what you learned. Review the poses you practiced, and note any instructions that particularly made sense. Even if you remember just one thing from each class, you'll soon have a lot of information that can deepen your own personal practice.

平常心

在事業心的前提下談平常心。缺乏事業心的所謂“平常心”,是一種麻木、萎縮、不思進取的狀態;缺乏平常心的事業心,則往往會人格膨脹或心理失控。所謂最佳心理狀態,也就是事業心和平常心和諧而統一的一種狀態。

是第一次要等。

Squat

There are three major joints to consider when teaching a Squat: the hip, the knee, and the ankle. If any one of these three joints is limited in its range of motion (ROM), then any of the squatting poses will be awkward and uncomfortable.

Basically there is no big issue in squat.

The less flexible their ankles, the more a student has to lean the torso forward to counterbalance her hips.

在路上

相中的香蕉沒有特別,是怎樣得回來可以寫一個故事。

星期天,明明按了下車的訊號,可車沒有停下來,下一站才下車。走回家的路有很多的選擇。心想過,有沒有機會在路上碰到爸爸。呵呵!真的遇上了,我們都是走在回家的路上。香蕉就是爸爸在路上給我的。

望著香蕉,會心微笑了很多次。

Work from the Bottom Up

錯誤,改正

指出錯處真的很容易,可不談如何改正就大有問題了。不會說你不對,而是告訴你如何才是對(對跟做得好不好是兩回事)。這是在活動中領略回來的。

突然想到兩個情景,她們同樣跟我說我好有問題,而同樣跟我說要我自己去想,同樣跟我說她們沒有能力讓我知道答案,因為她們同樣說我不接受。不接受什麼,沒有說。而我,當然知道自己不接受什麼。一些未能令我成長的意念,當然不能接受。負面行為更是想也不用想,速速遠離。

現在我好肯定,將來我一定會是一個積極的老人家。

差不多不會只說別人不對,可往往答案別人也不願意聽。

Alignment

Like the alignment of asanas, the karanas are based on the center line of the body in relation to gravity and include not only placement of the body but also attention to the pathways of energies that flow through the body.

alignment 是不費吹灰之力,可能量在流動。

朋友跟我爭辯他有使用腹部的力量,我說看不見。他很堅持,我說執著下去吧!沒有就是沒有。身體是他的,不用太緊張。

老師每次告訴我那裡要用力(當時我認為自己用了力),記著它,每次練習時集中力自然到了那裡。現在,慢慢發展出肌力來了。老師會否看錯?可能。可是聽了他的話再去留意多一點,不壞的。做到了,不代表什麼,一山還有一山高,一世人也到不了頂點。如果有人告訴我現在做的什麼也不是,要我重頭再來,也沒有所謂。

關於呼吸,曾經懷疑過腹部的上上落落是有點刻意的,可曾是那樣。現在躺著,可以感受到背也同樣在呼吸。Pranayama,一年後可以開始嗎?

某些動作,已經不用看鏡子都能說出做得好還是不好。這樣的訓練,令我們不用依賴別人的眼光來過活。

不知道朋友的core strength 發展如何?!

堅持

別人看得見而自己還要堅持的話,對嗎?不是說關於意念感覺,而是實在看得見的東西。如果一個人看相片中的自己也發覺不到不對之處,還會堅持嗎?我,是絕對不會的。學習要信任要誠心,別人能說出自己沒有做出來的,一定照著別人的方法做一次,有益而無害。做過才再堅持自己的感覺吧!

呵呵!原來一年前說過這樣的話。很開心自己並不是一個只會說的人。

朋友問我是否能看化,我問他為何要看化?!不想沒有感覺不想看了的東西等於沒看,只是不讓情緒影響,卻不是沒有情緒。

他都是不明白的了,時常想著自己想要的東西,可那些東西是不存在的。他只是願意用自己能夠接受的角度去看這世界,多走一步多看一眼都不會。也沒有什麼的,他的生活一樣運作,照舊追趕跑跳碰。

離開了身體層面,core 就是專注。這是我的理解。在過程中,或者會分心,可很快就能返回原位;並不是雲遊太空。

老師也時常提醒我們的。一個動作做得輕鬆與否,絕對跟core 有關係。生活也一樣。

現場,事實

身在現場,看到的聽到的就是事實嗎?未必。

凡事不要只是“想”,要更進一步靜“思”,思是“田”字下一個“心”,心田需要耕耘。在耕耘之前,要先拔除雜草;如同把事業、家庭、個人的煩惱都放下了,將心地清理得乾乾淨淨,就能“從心出發”,真正去了解人生的價值觀。

很多人常為了事業、家庭,用盡心思去“想”,而想出不少煩惱;因為一般人大都會操心有形有相的事物。看看“想”這個字,就是“相”字下加一個“心”字。

很有意思的中文字。

心五四運動

四安:安心、安身、安家、安業;四它:面對它、接受它、處理它、放下它;四感:感恩、感謝、感化、感動;四福:知福、惜福、培福、種福;四要:需要、想要、能要、不能要

簽名

沒有人能告訴我簽名的目的何在,於是不太在意有沒有簽名。如果某天被某人發覺某文件沒有簽名,只會回應下次記著,可是不會做的。呵呵!做了是同事的分兒,我是不理的。

每每等他,妨礙了我的工作。當然也不等他,幸好有記錄。

做什麼

是老師時常提醒我們的,手沒有捉著,俯下身去做什麼。他時常要我們去找身體哪裡不舒服,轉動一下,感受去。他說身軀轉左轉右也不是容易的事。

做什麼並不重要,是要專注。

由它去

近來發生的幾件重大事故,西方的做法都是由它去。是真的由它去還是沒有辦法呢?!

老師時常跟我們說細節,聽到聽不到,看自己了。

弟弟的太太脾氣好到沒話說。最麻煩的莫過於找來一個黑面神。黑面本來沒有什麼,是他本人的事,可發放出來的負能量,影響別人健康。

在茶餐廳,聽著隔鄰在談論租鋪開業(好像是補習),老闆的人工才三萬八,租金要四萬多。

時常想伸展,特別是腳跟和腳趾。好像嬰兒出牙時要咬東西。

Hips

同事有頗明顯的C 字背,她自己也知道。說說說,一聽我說可以改善,話題就終止了。

相處之道

站在別人的空位裡。很多人,未必知道自己有的是空間,於是站在那裡是最安靜的。

不能吃

不吃冷的沒有問題,不吃肉沒有問題,不吃生的沒有問題,不吃甜的沒有問題。如果有天不能喝咖啡,我會很不高興的。突然發覺,能喝咖啡是很幸福的。

事緣同事說喝了咖啡胃痛。

午飯,傳統茶餐廳咖啡杯,分了三口來喝(又喝到甜味,相信是來自奶)。今天想要一碗多些粉多些湯的,真的有啊(沒有出聲)!很滿足啊!

回來,網上朋友問近況如何,回答nothing can complain。

實在

起來前的一刻,做著leg up to the wall,好實在的,臀緊緊貼到牆上去(不需要費力)。

應對

近來建立的,要對方說出問題是什麼才回應。

被提醒

被提醒有什麼不好,有時侯要給機會讓人(老闆)提醒。嘻!今天跟同事說的。

他們的心態是又被“話”了,覺得是做錯了事情,做得不好。

零點

呵呵!又買,才六十塊。

玉米片是辣的(不太辣),都是純芝士味道比較好。
柿子種很辣。
蕃薯條好好味道,星期二再買(星期三休假)。
昆布(好硬)小魚不好吃。
見到柚子皮,怎可放過。還沒吃,不知道好吃不好吃。

Calcium in Bones

Yoga is well known as ‘first-aid’ for stress! Who would think that stress affects our bones, but one of the effects of stress is the release of adrenaline which depletes the calcium in our bones, encouraging them to become more brittle and prone to osteoporosis. The slow, complete yoga breath, the restorative poses such as Legs up the Wall and Supported Fish are deeply relaxing and work to retain the calcium where it should be – in the bones.

Now

體驗告訴我,在不太清楚的情況下,不需要太用力(用了也是白費的)。留心觀察嘗試,下次就會好。

課堂體驗

做了很多沒有做過的動作。
腳跟強壯了許多,ankle flex 暢順了很多。過去的一兩個星期沒有感覺錯誤。
wide leg squat,小腿很酸軟啊!老師還要我們做cleaning breath,做不到呀!knee to chest roll up,cleaning breath 勉強可以。
downward facing dog 轉做side plank,手腳出了些汗,支撐不好,坐了下來(輕輕的)。
lunge 後轉做downward facing dog,腳要後推一個半腳位。lunge 的改善空間很大。
downward facing dog 一邊叉腰,不平衡啊!
lying butterfly,膝很想往下。
thread the needle roll up,差不多碰到膝了(左邊)。
做roll up,肚子有點熱。
老師說是呼吸帶動動作,呼吸了才開始動作。

午餐

吃了凱撒沙拉(有四塊燒雞,點中式辣椒醬),羅宋湯好好喝(想過要多一碗),少奶的咖啡也好好喝。

逛逛逛,回到家已經三點多了(行了兩小時左右)。旺角有法輪功人士遊行,網上新聞沒有報導。

看見新店(以前是賣果汁意粉沙拉),買了燒賣(肚子餓)。

有些食物令人累,吃得合意精神好。身體好敏感(或者應該說為有感應)。

吃和睡

晚餐喝了兩碗湯、灼韭菜花(選了沒有蠔油的部分)、一口鴨,幾件薯仔。

下午吃了羅宋湯(好想要一碗加湯的,不知道可以不可以)螺絲粉加司華力腸。

說睡就睡,六點二十分左右,睡了二十多分鐘。真的睡著了,多幸福。

Breathing

Breathwork is another excellent addition to your nightly sleep routine. "Every time you exhale, it slows your heartbeat and that helps calm you down," says Roger Cole, an Iyengar Yoga teacher and a research scientist specializing in the physiology of sleep. Try two parts exhalation to one part inhalation. For example, start by exhaling through your nose to the count of 6 and then inhale through your nose to the count of 3. Do this for 5 to 30 minutes before bed.

朋友跟我說什麼游泳幫助了他running nose 的問題,可是臨睡前卻要吃藥(好幾天了)。不知道他能否做到以上的呢?

Melt Down

坐在凳上做forward bend,背有melt down 的感覺。

基本上不難達到,可是幾十秒的事情,願意等也未必等到。他們不明白也不願意去明白,逼也逼不了。

Once can enjoy the process to get things done, there's the pleasure. It is only ME can know how good the process is, but not the people around.

這麼多年來,還是喜歡過程。

Depression

Scientists have learned that depression is an organized, patterned way of responding to events in one’s life. For example, some people develop the tendency to take things personally, even when things are not personal. Others tend to engage in all-or-nothing thinking. Either way, they draw wrong conclusions about events and make the mistake of believing their emotional conclusions rather than the facts.

身邊depress 的人都是這樣的。

同事跟我說她們加班的情況,我的心裡說,三十幾歲人,事情何時做都不知道的嗎?不是老闆說什麼就是什麼。不會跟她說什麼的,因為我知道是她depress,她不會聽我的。

Self

昨天的答案,去印度學習yoga 和禪修。

2 Months vs 6 Months and More

Did not know that it has been that long

朋友說要慢慢來,原來他的時間觀念是這樣的,怪不得。大家都是過了六個月,可他卻只做了兩個月的事情。步伐慢,是誰的責任呢?!

記起老師的話(已經記起過很多次),人在才是把事情做了。有沒有做好,沒得說謊的,一看就知道。

明白

同事覺得我說的話有點over,昨天她跟我說終於明白(因為她嘗試過處理)。

做了才心安

昨天的下午五點多,才買咖啡和麵包。有些事情,做了才心安的。

喝著咖啡,知道數字上升,越做越起勁。

肩膀

昨天的課堂(不是yoga),用了肩膀起碼三百次。今早起來有點累。

喝著咖啡看著書,心情很好(只覺有點累,懷疑是食物的緣故),肩膀自動往後伸延,好好感覺。

好似有幾百萬未開頭

朋友又說他不會買新車的。我想問買新車一定要一去就買MYR500k BMW 嗎?以他現時的收入,根本負擔不起(供也不可以,因他已經有其他的負擔)。

他就是這樣,說一些這樣的話。

快十一個月了

什麼也不知道的情況下,還問。不明白。話說回來,明白的,不說這些還可以說什麼。

那天我們三分鐘做二十多個呼吸。

朋友做lying mountain pose 會弄痛小腿,游自由式會令小腿抽筋。

Hip Joint Flexibility

Hip joint flexibility can also be helped by lying on your back and crossing the right ankle over the left knee. Hold your hands behind the left knee and gently pull the legs toward the chest. You should feel a stretch in the back of the right hip, not at the knee. Because the muscles and fascia (connective tissue) of the hip joints are so strong, it may take months of work to improve hip flexibility enough to do Padmasana without knee strain.

我的臀沒有伸展的感覺啊!要留意。

有好好的伸展。

現在可以不用起身就可以抱著膝了。原因?大腿拉得近身軀。何以?就是老師的話,高些再高些。

老師的話,沒有多餘的。跟著做全部就好。

問,有用嗎?

如果一個人不願意說的話,問,有用嗎?
很多事情不需要問,自己看自己做就知道的了。這是我的體驗(現時工作的經驗就是這樣而來的)。

零投訴

小組的投訴率是零。我們會說,知道可以解決的就去做,否的話等時機。
會讓他們看到大方向,當他們知道事情的大部分時,會知道結果總是要付出的。有沒有能力付出,知道了也不投訴了。

選擇,規限

是選擇也是規限。

"You really do not need to know many things, but you definitely need to practice what you know."

沒有了繁瑣的雜務,時間就用來練習練習。

不理會最根本的,問題永遠存在。

Practise

the best yoga prescription for rotator cuff health is to maintain a well-rounded asana practice. Practiced regularly, a variety of standing poses, chest openers, arm balances, and inversions can help you protect this complex and crucial part of your anatomy.

老師說過不好在家胡亂練習(不好做flow),因為我們不知道流程是怎樣。能做的是一些簡單的關節運動。

Gravity

the body can't get stronger without gravity. Just as a coiled spring gets its force from resistance, the body needs stress to build strength in muscle and bone. Bone density, in particular, is developed through low- and high-impact weight-bearing exercise like running, walking, bicycling, dance, and yoga.

Asanas (postures) utilize body weight as a powerful source of resistance: Outside of the water, gravity helps to build strength and muscle. In addition, postures take the body through a full range of motion, encouraging flexible, supple muscles that are less prone to injury.

練習時找到對衡是很重要的。平衡總需要兩方,道理很簡單。

魚包

看電視節目後,很想吃魚包(內內外外的材料都是魚)。

不解決

很多人就是不喜歡解決事情,寧願時常看到同樣事情的發生。不理解。
一個code,內容變化不多,一分鐘肯定能明瞭;可就是不願意花這一分鐘。
另一例子,有FTP 為何不用(只需要copy & paste),要等上一段傳送時間(最後也失敗)。
還有的是,不做set up,要每次更改。set up 的組合只有三個元素。

好堅持我的懶人方法,不做多餘的程序。

哈!老師的話。

作用不是要我們強顏歡笑。試過就知道的了,多說不嘗試是無用的。

Consensus

課堂後,膝後上方的肌肉感覺累累的。今晚累沒了,那裡鬆了很多,也發覺腳跟更能踏實。

Movement

By enabling us to go inward—to focus on how we feel in a pose rather than how we look—yoga encourages us to let go of our desires for our body and criticisms of it, to enjoy its movements. Over time, this experiential relationship with our body may even enable us to forsake the mirror for our internal seer, to filter out social pressures and unrealistic expectations, and to accept ourselves as we are.

Acceptance to me means being in an ongoing process with our bodies and how we feel about them, rather than looking at an end result

While the culture of desire encourages us to feel deprived and want more, yoga practice teaches us to feel satisfied, joyful, and grateful for what we do have and who we, in fact, already are. The only risk of adopting this perspective, Dale says, is that "if we loved the way we looked, our economy would collapse."

One happy casualty of releasing this preoccupation is the hopeless pursuit of perfection. A healthy body is a true blessing, but healthy is not the same as perfect. No matter how advanced your practice is, yoga is just that—a practice. We can always learn harder poses or hold them longer. The longer we practice, the more yoga teaches us that there really is no point in expecting perfection, in our practice or in our body.

Softness

Softness isn't weakness; if your muscles are hard, you're sacrificing the subtle breath-driven movement that helps you distinguish between strong engagement and strain. Your active muscles need to be soft enough to allow these movements as well as the subtle ripples that reverberate through you as other muscles release.

Hips

And uncomfortable pressure or pain in the front of the hip when you pull the thigh up and across your torso doesn't indicate a productive stretch; it means there's compression on the tendons, ligaments, and other soft tissues that cross the front of the hip.

自自然然

曾做過差不多七年的銀行工作,那時很好狀況(現在不行了)。
做過能經歷經濟低迷不明病毒侵襲的行業(現在不行了),那時時常說人家慘我們賺錢。
現在的是比較冷門的行業(要轉行不太困難,同事也這樣說),病毒的入侵又有生意做。

環顧所在的環境,不無影響如何看事情的。

滿足過

感受過滿足,就懂選擇了。其實這也是最根本的管理學。當有選擇的時候,人就變得不計較(不計那些有得選都覺得沒得選的人)。

課堂體驗

今天的平衡力出奇的好,做了一個很滿意的warrior III(還不能做得好)。
table top,右手左腳離地。嘩!好像還是做著table top 似的。
boat,身軀沒有震得厲害,可是還是做不到老師要我們維持的時間(要勉強維持是可以的,不過不想暈倒)。他唱著歌,要我再開始才結束。
捉著腳跟做rolling,可以啊!能翻到後。可突然來一個plow,手要放開了。
bridge,老師要我們放鬆臀,用大腿的力支撐身軀。可以做到一點點。當大腿能用力的時候,胸骨就自然提升。
seated cross leg,老師要我們flex the ankle。
跪著做的sun salutation,開始暢順了。“跣”出去的(跪著坐--> child pose --> 整個人趴在地),還要努力。
happy baby pose,然後把膝開開合合。蠻吃力的。

笑眯眯

老師說什麼學不到也不要緊,最重要的是笑眯眯,對任何的事情。他好強調,假的也要笑眯眯。

能笑就是真的了,假是別人的感覺罷了。

一次又一次

或者是故事的一章節。一次又一次,有需要的時候總是沒影蹤。遲了好過未到也沒有。

好想過一陣子happy hour 時光(下班後去喝一杯,聊聊天)。有機會嗎?

對話

我:公仔在家做什麼?
小孩子:食緊飯。
我:吃什麼呀?
小孩子:唔知!
我:點會唔知咖?!

小孩子走開了。

我:喂!公仔吃了什麼?(問了數次)
小孩子:魚蛋、菜、魚(耐不住我的發問)。

妹妹說她會對著公仔罵的,扮大人。妹妹於是叫她“師奶”,她說公仔是她的妹妹,她做家姐。

繼續再繼續

以前是想著繼續,現在是繼續再繼續,身體自動的多做一點(感覺很amazing)。

六年

中學是免費讀六年,都是今晚才知道。

晚餐

只吃了半隻沒有太多肉的乳鴿(一蚊一隻),一件薯仔,一件海鮮卷,一隻蝦。

回家前買了六件麥樂雞,喜歡它的日式咖哩醬。

下個星期才是母親節,可今天就逼人叫套餐,還要差不多二千五百。什麼區呀?!跟著拿個便宜一點的餐牌來,看也沒有看就搖頭說不要套餐。

不喜歡沒有選擇,不喜歡被人問來問去(問了三次要不要湯)。

這酒家不懂做生意的,現在什麼時勢?!

不安

是,看著新聞,是有點不安的(不安,是因為不知道事態的發展)。都不太想走到街上,可今晚要外出吃飯。妹夫有興致推媽媽外出。

Repair

The first lesson many yoga students with injured hamstrings need to learn is that stretching isn't always appropriate for injured or painful body parts. When you tear soft tissue, including muscles, tendons, and ligaments, your body begins its repairs by stitching tiny fibers of connective tissue across the damaged area. If you stretch the injured tissue, the tiny fibers can be torn loose, disrupting the healing process and lengthening the time needed for complete repair. In fact, if you repeatedly disturb the healing process, the tissue may never heal completely and the injured area can become chronically painful and inflamed. In addition, if the area does eventually heal, the repeated tearing and healing can create heavy scar tissue, which tends to receive less blood flow and be less pliable than normal tissue, setting the stage for reinjury.

Calves

Now let's see if you are ready to integrate a good deep calf stretch into your Downward Dog. Sometimes you can get more length in your calves in Downward Dog by initially lifting your heels high off the floor and then consciously releasing the calf contraction and easing your heels back down. This is a version of "contract-relax," a stretching technique that takes advantage of the fact that it's easier to release and stretch a muscle more deeply after contracting it.

被朋友嚇著了,說做tiptoe 來增強小腿肌肉的彈性(其實並不太知道他想怎樣,只知道他小腿的肌肉疼)。tiptoe 是contract 的動作,單做這個會令肌肉變短的。

另,想提提他,他的腳掌結構不大好(有扁平足),ankle 又無力(mis-alignment 的緣故),小心把腳拗倒。

The wise yoga student doesn't expect instant calf flexibility but instead works patiently over months, and even years, to slowly lengthen the calves. Besides avoiding injury, this gradual work will teach you patience and heighten your awareness of your connection to the earth through the grounding of your heels, which forms the foundation for your poses to grow up into the heavens.

昨天是下午的三點,今天是中午時分。做人也不是機械的。

後者比較好一點,起碼空間多點,呼吸的也不是空調的空氣再製造。

被問

朋友問我如何可以達到我現時的程度(指yoga),我反問他其實想怎樣,他不知道,只懂重複說好像我一樣。其實他問什麼我都只會回答他“練習再練習”,還是要正確的練習 。

怎知道正確?不是做到某個動作就是,而是身體給的反應。呼吸暢順了嗎?皮膚滑了嗎?傷口好得快一點嗎?不是永遠的覺得累,能提起腳走路,脊椎挺直的。還有很多的訊號,自己找找看。

還有最重要的就是把瑜伽變為生活的一部分,好像呼吸一樣,不用去想而做了。mountain pose 不是站立的姿勢嗎?staff pose 不是坐的姿勢嗎?睡覺的時候可以做corpse,洗澡時可以活動腳趾。如果喜歡的話,上廁所的時候可以做forward bend(坐著的時候)。看著電腦螢光屏的時候,可以做arm stretch。身體不想動的話,做做呼吸練習絕對是好。

沒有時間,真的是藉口啊!

Do the Right Thing

Friend always doesn't know what's the right thing to do. Just a thing then think how to do. Actually what he is doing now is not effective.

Forward Bend

If you pull yourself forward using your shoulders and arms you will create the tension through your body and you will end up tightening your muscles and this will not allow you to get into the posture any quicker.

現在要記著的是背要直,能不能做到動作並不重要。

相信朋友會是這樣做forward bend 的,希望他留意。

腳掌

已經是淩晨的一點多,可腳掌還是軟軟的(不知為何覺得晚上時間人體的關節會變硬)。喜歡坐著的時候用腳趾撐地來做做伸展,效果很好的。其實在等車等過馬路的時候,都喜歡tip toe。

剛剛做了tip toe with arm raise 測試,可以做上五個呼吸。

朋友

她的課程應該快要完成了,不知道她的狀態如何。往後她的生活如何呢?

她的種種,給了我很大的啟示,凡事放輕點,也不去懷疑別人。

這裡的第一篇是為她而寫的,數數,有五年半了。

不去尋尋覓覓,得到的可以很多。

學與學習

學什麼什麼,都只是模仿。學習就不同了,是一個過程。知道了的東西還要親身感受過,想過,才是屬於自己的。這不是字面的執著,而是一種經驗。多做也未必是學習,只做不想也沒用的。也不可以急進,要慢慢來,要有一個清晰的目標。

朋友S ,不是我針對你用的字眼,而是這是很重要的。

覺得自己還比別人的媽媽嘮叨,可是看到從前寫的跟現在一樣,怎不寫一字半句。三年了。

看事情

現時的觀點,是過往的累積。感恩。

每講一樣事情,都自然聯想為何會這樣,原來原來都是一些體驗。別人說過的話,一定記得。

凡是存在,沒有無因而自然的,沒有常恆的、獨立的,一切事物的生和滅,是由於關係和條件的存在和離散。

欖菜菇粒炒飯

終於了。不太喜歡兩餸飯,因為餸是涼的。多給十塊要了炒飯,估不到都有湯送。還是懷念在星洲吃的。

Breath

The prana controls inhaling; it is felt as an upward floating, spreading, branching, and flowering pattern. Its home is the core of the heart. The apana controls exhaling. It is the downward rooting flow, which contracts, or tones, into a seed point at the center of the pelvic floor.

When the mind is distracted, the apana and the prana are not integrated, and the coccyx and the pubic bone will not pull down at the same time. Pay attention to dropping the coccyx, which strongly stimulates the apana pattern, at the same time as dropping the pubic bone, which strongly enhances the prana pattern.

看了這段,看看自己如何呼吸,還可以。

You also need strong back muscles to help you take a deep breath. Your spine forms a strong column that supports the expansion of the ribs up and out, with the erector spinae muscles running up each side of the spine, acting like guy wires to support the spine and rib cage. When you are curved over in a slump, with a forward head and a collapsed chest, your posture significantly limits your ability to breathe deeply. The collapsed chest puts pressure on the diaphragm, limiting its ability to function, and also hampers the expansion of the ribs. Breath movements can also be limited by short and tight abdominal muscles.

三十歲,六十歲

人家六十歲,要做某些事情,三十歲的並不需要考慮。三十歲,做好三十歲要做的事情吧!

我的三十歲(左右),什麼印象最難忘?當然是拿了獎,免費到上海去。

不愉快的事情,沒有帶來遺憾。對很多人來說是一件大事情,對我是生命的轉化點。

Twist

lying twist 是我喜歡的動作之一,能把身軀側的肌肉伸展,是平時做不到的。

老師好強調要在可以的情況下才可以把頭轉向的。

新聞並不一定可信

某天的新聞報導說,市面口罩供應緊張,可當晚在家附近的店就看到了,還有很多的存貨。

Meditation

Meditation is not a technique for getting things; it is a technique for getting rid of things--including unhealthy emotional thoughts.

減或加,自己選擇。我的當然是前者。

If a person does something to get something, there is no good karma gained from that act because it is a selfish act. Selfish actions do not bring good karma. If however, people do something good because they believe it’s the right thing to do, it does manifest good karma.

平常心

不要被煩惱、仇恨、是非所障迷,這更需要我們升起等視眾生的心,這種心就叫“平常心”。

調整一下

是昨天跟同事說的話。真的,想過更好的日子(看不過眼的都要過得到自己),就要調整一下了。

原則沒有改變(自己好清楚),也會跟同事說過明白。能不能瞭解就看自己的能力了。

不喜歡嘻哈過日子,踏實是也。方向不清晰嗎?不打緊,儘量去找就是了。很多事情,總要找時機的。

咖啡

第一口的咖啡是甜的(沒有加糖的啊),忍不住多喝幾口。稍稍涼了後沒有這個感覺了。

喜歡咖啡,就是喜歡它的變化。

Lunch Yoga

想著好不好開始呢?

昨晚的夢很是豐富,快可以交上男朋友了,卻醒來要上廁所。

體會到的

心裡有的,平時多留意多提醒就是了。練習,不一定是肉體的,“心”更重要。

elbow 的hyper-extension 沒有了的從心而發。

二十九塊

午餐:一杯熱水給客人自己加茶包(水很熱,很好喝)、湯(有豆腐、蘿蔔、昆布)、蟹子蟹柳青瓜沙律(蟹子脆卜卜的)、叉燒拉麵(配菜不少的,還有半隻蛋)、熱檸蜜和雪糕(沒有吃)。

晚餐:三餸酸辣米線。

最“醒”

下班時候的樣子總是最“醒”的,奇怪。
