很美的關係

沒有對與錯,只有正確不正確。什麼是對什麼是錯?說不定的。很多因素影響著。
如果你試著找自己的心,一定越找越多,邊找邊想,念頭紛飛。當你不再想時,這也是念頭,因為你在想自己的心並沒有在動,這當然是念頭。為什麼慧可做得到呢?因為他已經修行很久,遇到達摩一句話打回來,把他的妄想、分別、煩惱、執著的念頭打得粉碎,終於發現心了不可得;無心可安,才叫安心。

做這動作的時候,如果一不留神,屁股很容易就會往後傾(尾骨沒有向下)。站在牆邊測試自己,懂得調節。

老師提醒做這個的時候,什麼也要往內收,肩膀不動,而胸口打開。怎知道肩膀有沒有動,靠牆做就是了。手能提升到那裡就是那裡,能不能碰到牆不是重點。

The latissimus dorsi is the most extensive muscle in the body, covering (if you include its connective tissue) the entire lower back, a large swath of the mid-back, and much of the sides of the trunk before running upward to form most of the outer wall of the armpit.
真的不看不知道,原來手不能高舉到耳旁是跟latissimus dorsi 有關的,它在下背的位置啊!
When the lats pull taught, they arrest the lift of her arms before they arrive completely overhead. This makes her arms angle forward rather than pointing straight up, creating the characteristic "closed armpit" profile of students with tight lats (see left photo). If the student continues to try to lift her arms higher or move them backward, the tight muscles tug at their origins, drawing her upper sacrum, pelvic rim, lumbar spine, lower thoracic spine and lower ribs up and forward. This is what creates the characteristic arched back and forward-poking-lower-ribs profile of students with tight lats.
勉強真的沒有幸福的(勉強舉高手了,原來壞了身體的其他部分,得不償失)。幸好我沒有這個思想,練習時沒有包袱。
剛剛看一看,手高舉的幅度已經超過耳朵了。
想起老師跟我們說過,把手曲一曲再伸展會做得較好,原因就是跟身體構造有關。伸一伸,放一放,再高舉的時候會伸展得更多。一股蠻力是不會成事的。
寫到這裡,又要稱讚一下老師編排的ground work,他老是說,沒做好的就只是躺著四十分鐘。

Nothing in Control
It's not only weather patterns and other people who are beyond our control: Our own bodies operate largely in the no-control zone. Yogic lore notwithstanding, few of us can control our heartbeat or the rate of our blood circulation, much less avoid picking up a virus on a plane or suffering the crazed mutation of a set of cancer cells.
When you're in your controller self—that is, when you're in denial about these simple facts of life—it's no wonder that you're often irritated, scared, or tense. Yes, it's important to have a measure of control over life, but the deeper truth is that much of the time control is simply impossible, so the only way to avoid suffering is to give up your need to control.
I tend to believe pattern.

No Should
It's always important to leave your ego at the door when you practice yoga, so don't be too proud to practice Vrksasana near a wall if it helps. As with all postures, it's essential to let go of your ambition about how you think you should be in the pose and accept where you are as fully as possible. Be aware that your balance and flexibility can change from day to day, depending on what you ate, how you slept, and a host of other variables. So don't assume you'll glide effortlessly into the pose just because you've done it before. Tuning in to the subtle changes in your body, mind, and spirit will teach you how to stay in the present moment. Be playful and patient, use props if you need them, and if you fall, try again. With time, practice, and patience, you will make progress.
Friend likes to say should this and should that. Told him many many times it was not way of yoga. He doesn't listen, nothing I can help anymore.

時常說朋友遠離了,原來是我走遠了。他還在原地,我卻周圍去看看。我的話,對他來說有點像外星語。也不奇怪了。

Neck Stretch / Seated Twist
Friend told me that he did neck stretch while doing seated twist. Yes, the neck turns in this pose but it is not stretching.

Arms and Back
many of the standing poses will strengthen the arms and back if you practice them properly. Remember to draw the shoulder blades down the back, firm the triceps, and really lengthen the arms from the shoulder blades. Keep the sternum well lifted and the collarbones broad.
In standing poses, concentrate on keeping your arms firm and straight, reaching out expansively.

陰影
原來心裡有陰影,真的好可怕。那些根本微不足道的事情,卻可以無限量放大。幸運地,我沒有這方面的能力。
一個孩子看到一些較為昂貴的東西,著爸爸看一眼,可爸爸卻跟孩子說留待你自己有能力的時候。孩子說那刻爸爸沒有罵他,卻用一種很嚴厲的語氣。他總是在問爸爸不可以用一種溫和些的方法嗎?!孩子說,他根本不是想買那東西,只想爸爸看一眼。
我問孩子,為何要爸爸看呢?真的不想擁有那東西嗎?這麼深層的問題,孩子不懂回答;如果會的話,孩子不會跟我說以上的話。孩子現在已經是成年人了。
爸爸有需要改進的地方嗎?孩子要反省嗎?
我問孩子可有要罵人卻用溫和的方法,他說沒有。我說當你可以做到的話才要求爸爸也一樣啊!孩子是一個能極度容忍別人過錯的人,甚至是觸犯法律的,被他視為朋友的他都不會提出警告。
我跟孩子說爸爸給了你這麼多,要感激才真。埋怨什麼?!
孩子說不想像爸爸,可發現行為有點像他。他說的是人的本性,任何人都會如此。不想像爸爸,想像什麼呢?沒有方向啊!
他想的好像不要自己的影子一樣,可以嗎?影子的存在對我們沒有影響啊!只是有光時的反映,不需要理會。

Intelligence
The intelligence of the body is a fact. It is real. The intelligence of the brain is only imagination. So the imagination has to be made real. The brain may dream of doing a difficult backbend today, but it cannot force the impossible even on to a willing body. We are always trying to progress, but inner cooperation is essential.
If the brain receives knowledge from the body, it will be able to increase the intelligence of the body later. In this way, the body and the brain begin working together to master the asana.
After acting, reflect on what you have done. Has the brain interpreted the action correctly? If the brain does not observe correctly, then there is confusion in action. The duty of the brain is to receive knowledge from the body and then guide the body to further refine the action. Pause and reflect between each movement. This is progression in attention. Then in the stillness you can be filled with awareness. When you ask yourself, "Has every part of me done its job?" this is self-awareness. The Self has to find out whether this has been done well or not.
There should be constant analysis throughout the action, not just afterwards. This leads to true understanding. The real meaning of knowledge is that action and analysis synchronize. Slow motion allows reflective intelligence. It allows our mind to watch the movement and leads to a skillful action. The art of yoga lies in the acuity of observation.
Self-consciousness is when the mind constantly worries and wonders about itself, doubting constantly and being self-absorbed.
When you are self-conscious, you are going to exhaust yourself. You are also going to strain the muscles unnecessarily because you are thinking about the asana and how far you want to stretch. You are not experiencing the asana and stretching according to your capacity.
The moment you bring attention, you are creating something, and creation has life and energy. Awareness allows us to overcome tiredness and exhaustion in our poses and in our lives. Awareness in action brings back energy and rejuvenates the body and mind. Awareness brings life. Life is dynamic, and so therefore the asanas should also be.

Stretch
While doing arm raising (actually stretching the side muscle), feet are adjusted automatically (pressing down). A proper stretch, alignment is there.

Friend's Warrior
Friend told me no matter how he adjusted the hips, they are not in square form. Sure he cannot do warrior in the right place. Answer is without alignment.
No need to look at him practising, I can ask alot of questions and know how he does the pose.
Warrior is not an easy pose. A long way to go.

課堂體驗
做eagle 時(腳趾繞在小腿那裡),盤骨有點痛。
做side swing後攬腰,左邊胸骨附近的肌肉拉扯著(是肌肉嗎?!);不過很快就沒事了。
站立捲下向前爬,plank 變成cobra,開始暢順了。
曲膝坐著躺下,腳板離地了。
背向天,大字提起手手腳腳,好好的伸展。
右腳的平衡比左腳好,變了。
沒有被導師調整過啊!

沒有去
遇見老師,他立即對我說不見我來。是說過會早起的,可上個星期看見一學員,真的想著不去的。老師說班上會有三個那樣的學員,今天只來了兩個,極度需要幫忙。問過自己,為何他們要讓這類學員來參加(他們參與能力低而會造成騷擾),會影響課堂的。今天好像再沒有問這問題了,因為是改變不了事實。
下個星期去不去,現在的答案是會的。可,不太肯定。始終老師不在,很不同的。老師著我下星期要出現,不去,往後別人也不會找我的了。有能力(而且是別人看到我的能力),就幫忙吧!
整個思路,好明顯,有好強的分別心。

Intelligence
In between the mind and the ego lies the middle layer, intelligence. The distinguishing characteristics of intelligence are its capacity to perceive itself and its ability to choose to do something it hasn’t done before. In other words, intelligence is the part of our consciousness that enables us to objectively observe ourselves (including the mind and ego) and initiate change. Iyengar describes intelligence as “the revolutionary of our consciousness.”
Iyengar says that when one layer of consciousness is active, it expands, causing the other layers to retract. So when we activate our intelligence, we force the overactive mind and clinging ego to recede, giving us the experience of stillness that is yoga.

朋友說做chair pose 的時候,用牆來支撐大腿就不累了。問這方法好不好。我的練習,從來也沒有想過什麼的輔助,身體是怎樣就是怎樣。正確的練習,效果一定有。
朋友問題的答案,在文章裡。希望他能明白。

朋友說老闆喜歡問某某問題,而對他就提供很多的意見。
同事們說老闆的文字很攻擊性。昨天看看,跟寫給我的一樣。
老闆問問題有何不妥?!事情沒有做好,追趕是對的。問為何以前的時候不做,現在才做。這問題問了也沒有答案。可以說的是,當不瞭解環境的時候,想做也做不了。
朋友方面,願意聽就是意見;如不,就是批評。再,新人舊人,本是不一樣。

When done correctly, standing poses also strengthen the muscles that protect the knee and ankle joints and help you build a better foundation for your whole body. "They teach the muscles in your legs to hold your joints in proper alignment," explains Dario Fredrick, an exercise physiologist and Iyengar Yoga instructor in San Anselmo, California. By teaching you to properly plant your feet and align your knees and hips, standing poses improve your posture and coordination in everyday activities, not just during your time on the mat. As you learn proper alignment, you'll activate and strengthen the smaller, less-used, and often weak muscles in your arches, lower legs, and inner and outer thighs rather than relying solely on the larger leg muscles.
